I got up close and personal with hundreds of monarch and swallowtail butterflies this weekend at the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Butterfly Encounter. This summer event is a great opportunity to spend some time in nature and learn more about butterflies.

There are educational signs throughout the exhibit that discuss the life cycle, habitat requirements, butterfly anatomy and more!
You can also use the provided foam brushes to gently guide the butterfly onto the stick so you can get a lost look at them.
As you exit the exhibit, you also have the opportunity to purchase native grown plants for your very own pollinator garden.
Here’s a quick video of the experience on my personal IG page.
The encounter runs all day throughout the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s operating hours from June 5 – August 6, 2023. You can purchase tickets online or at the door. Here’s a direct link to their website so you can learn more about the experience.
There’s only a few more weekends to experience butterflies up close!
