I took my first (EVER) solo trip to New York City last fall! My schedule was stacked – not only because there is so much to do and see in NYC, but because I was working remotely during the time I visited. And if I can tackle NYC in three days while working, I believe anyone can! Here is my 3-day guide to New York City that includes all of my must-see and must-do activities (during my off-work time).
Day 1
I spent the majority of my first day walking the city close to my hotel (Hyatt Centric Time Square NY Hotel). Everything I saw was within a 15 minute (or less) walking distance: Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, and St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Day 2
The morning of Day 2 was spent walking around Central Park and 5th Avenue. I loved, loved, loved strolling around Central Park. It was nice to take a break from the noise and relax with the little bit of nature preserved within the city. Here are all the main attractions I stopped by in Central Park
- Bethesda Terrace (hello Gossip Girl fans, what)
- Alice in Wonderland
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art
In the evening after work, I went to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt: The night time view of the city was absolutely stunning! If you’re looking for an Instagrammable immersive experience, this is the place for you.

Day 3
For Day 3, I tackled lower Manhattan. I saw the 9/11 Memorial, walked though Washington Square Park and I took a ferry tour to the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty, so touristy, I know . . . but I mean my entire 3 days were honestly me being a tourist. And I have no shame 🙂
After work I watched a musical on broadway. This was, hands down, my FAVORITE activity that I did. I saw Here Lies Love – which is a biographical musical based on the life of former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos. I loved this play for a couple reasons: 1) I’m a Filipina, so I got to support my amazingly talented filipino community and 2) the musical itself was interactive! The stage moved around throughout the duration of the show. There were two “seating” options – one option was seating at the mezzanine level and the second option was in the standing floor area. If you chose the floor, you got to participate in the musical. I mean what an experience!

While I was exhausted by the end of the week, I’m so glad I took this solo trip. I learned so much about myself and got to do numerous things that filled me with so much joy. Here’s to my next solo adventure!
