I’ve been going to the Marietta Farmer’s Market a lot this summer and one thing I always leave with is basil. I never make it through the entire bundle of basil when I use it only as a garnish for meals or cocktails, but I use it all when I make pesto! I like to switch between pesto and tomato sauce for pasta and pizza. It’s nice to mix it up a little and it’s extremely easy to make!
Today, I’m sharing everything you need to make pesto at home.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp pine nuts
- 1 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tsp lemon juice, fresh
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a food processor, combine all ingredients.
- Pulse until the mixture is smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

I’ve recently used it in salad and pasta dishes! I’d love to hear if you tried this recipe – let me know in the comments below.
Enjoy!
