Savannah, GA Travel Guide

I’m going back in time to 2022 for this post! This year marked the four year wedding anniversary for me and my husband. To celebrate, we wanted to stay somewhat local to Atlanta and decided on Savannah, Georgia! Savannah is such a charming town and the Spanish moss made the atmosphere feel magical. It is only a 4 hour drive from Atlanta and was the perfect place to explore for our 4th anni!

Where We Stayed

We stayed at the Perry Lane Hotel in downtown Savannah. I absolutely loved this hotel. It’s part of Marriott so we were able to gain points/rewards, but it had a boutique feel. You would have never known it was a Marriott hotel.

The staff was on top of their game – offering champagne or a glass of bubbly as soon as we arrived (and any time we passed the lobby during our stay). We took full advantage of their house car and always allowed some additional time in case the house car had a few stops before us.

The best part about the Perry Lane Hotel is that they are dog friendly! We were able to bring both of our dogs and they gave us a sweet doggy bag for each dog filled with treats, waste bags, and bandanas.

Dining Experiences

We had a schedule full of reservations for some of the best rated restaurants. Instead of diving into each place individually, I’ll share a list of places we dined at and share some of my favorite dishes.

Other Fun Adventures

  • Hilton Head Island – Hilton Head was about a 1 hour drive from Savannah.
  • Prohibition Museum
  • Graveface Museum I just want to highlight, we didn’t seek this one out.  One of the Perry Lane Hotel staff members recommended this super . . . intriguing museum. It was definitely an experience haha
  • Walking Around Downtown – It’s legal to walk the streets with alcohol in Savannah so this was an adventure in itself!

I’d highly recommend Savannah as a quick weekend getaway!
